Police locate vehicle of missing Missouri physician Dr. John Forsyth

Physician John Forsyth, MD, was reported missing on May 21 when he failed to show up for his shift at Mercy Hospital Cassville (Mo.), according to a May 23 report from OzarkFirst.

On May 23, his vehicle was located in a park near the Cassville Aquatic Center, according to a report from Newsweek

Dr. Forsyth has not been seen since 7 a.m. on May 21 when he left a shift at Mercy. Concerns were raised when he did not show up for his 7 p.m. shift that same day.

Dr. Forsyth's family reported that this was very unusual, as he never misses shifts at work. His fiance also told authorities that Dr. Forsyth does not frequent the park where his vehicle was located. The vehicle was found unsecured with the keys inside.

Authorities have no reason to believe that foul play is involved, and do not believe there is a greater threat to the public, according to the police department's Facebook page.

There is a forensic investigation ongoing of two phones and a laptop found in the vehicle.
