Jefferson cardiologist dies in car accident

Santosh Gupta-Bala, MD, 64, a cardiologist at Jefferson Health in Philadelphia, has died after her car rolled over her in the driveway of her home, according to a Feb. 12 report from Around Ambler.

Dr. Gupta-Bala was unloading the trunk of her car Feb. 4 when the vehicle began to roll, according to the report. She became pinned under the car.

She was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg but died from her injuries. Dr. Gupta-Bala had 32 years of cardiology experience, the report said.
