Joint Commission Publishes Healthcare Staffing Certification Review Process Guide

The Joint Commission has published a guide to help healthcare staffing firms prepare for onsite healthcare staffing services certification.

The Joint Commission's Health Care Staffing Services (HCSS) Certification Program is an official review process of a healthcare staffing firm's ability to provide high quality staffing services. The Joint Commission established standards to address various aspects of a healthcare staffing firm's performance. Although the organization announces initial certification reviews, re-certification reviews are unannounced.

The guide includes revised content that went into effect this month. New content includes an added item to the list of discussion topics related to the reporting and investigating of work-related illness or injury; minor revisions to the Personnel File Review and Competence Assessment and Credentialing Session; and an added item to the Human Resources File Review Checklist.
