Nevada Radiation Oncologist to Pay $5.7M in Fraud Case

Rakesh Nathu, MD, a radiation oncologist from Las Vegas, has agreed to pay the federal government $5.7 million plus interest in order to settle false claims allegations, according to a local FOX news report.

The government accused Dr. Nathu of submitting false claims for radiation oncology services to Medicare, TRICARE and the Federal Employees Health Benefits Plan from 2007-2009. Specifically, Dr. Nathu allegedly billed for more expensive radiation oncology services and unnecessary radiation oncology services.
