Joining 19 other states, the Delaware legislature has passed a law requiring payors to cover prosthetics at a level equal to coverage for other medical services, according to a report by the Washington Examiner.
The bill, expected to be signed by Gov. Jack Markell, will be applied to policies issued or renewed after Jan. 1 and providing major medical or other comprehensive coverage.
The bill says reimbursement for prosthetic devices must be at least equal to federal reimbursement rates.
