Bariatric surgeon Bobby Bhasker-Rao, MD, of Los Angeles-based miVIP Surgery Centers, used Intuitive Surgical's SureForm 60 Stapler in an outpatient setting.
What you should know:
1. Dr. Bhasker-Rao used the stapler in a robotic-assisted sleeve gastrectomy performed with the da Vinci Xi Surgical System.
2. The stapler can be used with the daVinci system's SmartFire technology. The SureForm 60 offers 120 degrees of full-wristed articulation, which allows for more precise stapler placement.
