7 gastroenterologists in the headlines

Here are seven gastroenterologists who have made headlines, as reported by Becker's since Oct. 4: 

1. United Digestive physician Daniel Mullady, MD, a gastroenterology and interventional endoscopy specialist at the Center for Digestive and Liver Health in Savannah, Ga., completed the first peroral endoscopic myotomy in the area. 

2. Benjamin Levy III, MD, a gastroenterologist at University of Chicago Medicine, spoke with Becker's to discuss how decreased reimbursements are a threat to gastroenterology. 

3. Sheldon Taub, MD, a gastroenterologist at Jupiter (Fla.) Medical Center, connected with Becker's to discuss what the gastroenterology industry will look like 10 years from now.

4. Three gastroenterologists — Shaibal Mazumdar, MD, Nina Phatak, MD, and Sheldon Taub, MD — connected with Becker's to share what new physicians should know.
