Physician practice consolidation continued at a rapid pace through the first half of 2026, with more than 40 transactions spanning ophthalmology, cardiology, gastroenterology, dermatology, primary care and orthopedics.
Buyers ranged from national health systems and physician-owned platforms to private equity-backed retina and dermatology consolidators, underscoring how broadly the deal activity extends across specialties and geographies.
Here are the 43 deals:
1. After seven weeks of mediations, Minneapolis-based University of Minnesota, Fairview Health Services and M Physicians reached a 10-year agreement extending and strengthening a 30-year partnership set to expire at the end of 2026.
2. Statesville, N.C.-based Iredell Health System added Carolina Specialty Care to its network. The practice, now operating as Iredell Carolina Specialty, includes four specialties and eight providers. It joins the Iredell Physician Network.
3. Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health acquired Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging, an outpatient radiology company with 12 locations across the Las Vegas Valley.
4. Summit Spine & Joint Centers acquired Savannah (Ga.) Pain Management and Savannah Pain Center. The acquisition includes an interventional pain management practice with one clinic and one ASC.
5. Tampa, Fla.-based Physician Partners of America acquired the patient base of Crespo Injury Care Center and added Ariel Crespo, MD, to its network of interventional pain specialists.
6. National diagnostic imaging company RadNet acquired Fort Myers, Fla.-based Radiology Regional and its 13 locations in the region. Radiology Regional provides outpatient diagnostic imaging services in Naples, Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Port Charlotte and Sarasota. Financial terms for the deal were not disclosed.
7. Milford (Mass.) Regional Physician Group joined with Worcester-based UMass Memorial Medical Group, effective Jan. 1. Milford Regional Physician Group includes 135 physicians, 113 advanced care providers and 386 staff members.
8. Atria Heart, part of Cardiovascular Associates of America, acquired Phoenix-based Cardiovascular Consultants. Cardiovascular Consultants has provided care in the region for more than 40 years.
9. Orlando, Fla.-based Ascend Vision Partners entered the Oklahoma market with the acquisition of three practices. The acquisition includes Oklahoma Retinal Consultants and Sylvester Eye Care & Aesthetics, both in Oklahoma City, and Wise Eye Associates in Norman.
10. Hartford (Conn.) HealthCare acquired Wallinford, Conn.-based Consulting Cardiologists for $3 million. Hartford first filed a certificate-of-need application to acquire the group in October 2025. Consulting Cardiologists comprises 10 locations throughout the state.
11. Millennium Physician Group, a subsidiary of Mosaic Health, has partnered with physician practices in Brevard and Indian River counties in Florida. Through the partnership, Millennium has added eight primary care locations to its portfolio. The practices collectively serve about 37,000 patients.
12. Scottsdale, Ariz.-based HonorHealth finalized its acquisition of 11 Evernorth Care Group, part of Cigna Group, Jan. 2. HonorHealth agreed to acquire Evernorth Care Group in early September.
13. Birmingham, Ala.-based UAB Health System acquired Southview Medical Group, an independent multispecialty physician practice. The practice serves more than 51,000 patients and reports 30,000 patient visits annually.
14. Vision Innovation Partners acquired Ophthalmic Associates of Alexandria (Va.). Founded in 2010, Ophthalmic Associates of Alexandria, led by Jacob Clark, MD, provides eyecare and related medical treatments in the Alexandria area.
15. Southlake, Texas-based Retina Consultants of America has acquired Montana Retina Consultants.
16. Austin, Texas-based St. David’s HealthCare acquired Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeons Feb. 15.
17. Dermatology Partners has acquired York, Pa.-based Bene Dermatology, effective March 2, as part of its Mid-Atlantic expansion strategy.
18. Pittsburgh-based UPMC has acquired Pennsylvania Gastroenterology in Camp Hill, Pa. The practice, now known as UPMC Gastroenterology Associates of Central Pa., will benefit from enhanced resources and new technologies.
19. Charleston, S.C.-based Medical University Hospital Authority, part of MUSC Health, will purchase all membership interests in Palmetto Primary Care Physicians for $111 million, effective March 3.
20. RadNet has acquired Annapolis, Md.-based Chesapeake Medical Imaging for $29 million. Founded in 2001 by radiologist Mark Baganz, MD, CMI had operated independently for 25 years. The group ran 14 locations, 12 of which are now part of RadNet.
21. Winchester, Ky.-based Centerpoint Health acquired the physician practice of Suzanne Pica, MD, and David Andreas, MD, integrating it into its affiliated medical group, Centerpoint Medical Group.
22. Conshohocken, Pa.-based pharmaceutical services company Cencora signed a definitive agreement with Atlanta-based EyeSouth Partners to acquire its retina business for $1.1 billion.
23. Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Pediatrix Medical Group has acquired Nashville-based Tennessee Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
24. Atlanta-based EyeSouth Partners has continued its network growth with the addition of Aslett-Kurica Eye Center, a practice in LaPlace, La.
25. Huntsville, Ala.-based Clearview Cancer Institute partnered with Alliance Cancer Care to launch a Radiation Oncology Division.
26. Maury Regional Medical Group added Middle Tennessee Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists to its physician network.
27. Upton, Mass.-based Hopedale Cardiology will join the division of cardiovascular medicine at Worcester-based UMass Chan Medical School, effective October 2026. The practice, led by Scott Brownstein, MD, has provided cardiovascular care at Milford (Mass.) Hospital since 1995.
28. Providence Regional Medical Center Everett (Wash.) has inked a new hospitalist services contract with Vituity, a physician-owned multispecialty partnership.
29. Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health has acquired sole ownership of MRI Group and Lancaster PET Partnership.
30. Detroit-based Henry Ford Health has added Clinton Township, Mich.-based Cornerstone Medical Group effective April 1.
31. Portland, Ore.-based Regenerative Orthopedic Center has acquired West Linn, Ore.-based ActiveEDGE Physical Therapy & Wellness Center, expanding its care model to include in-house rehabilitation services.
32. Premier Health Partners has acquired Dayton, Ohio-based Digestive Specialists. Dayton-based Premier Health is a nonprofit academic health system serving Southwest Ohio.
33. Nashville, Tenn.-based Sage Health, a primary care and wellness provider serving Medicare-eligible seniors, has secured $50 million in growth capital from Trinity Capital.
34. Columbia, S.C.-based Oasis Health Partners acquired Premier Health, a healthcare administrative services organization specializing in revenue cycle management and practice operations.
35. Annapolis, Md.-based Vision Innovation Partners has acquired Frederick Eye Institute, a comprehensive ophthalmology practice in Frederick, Md.
36. The King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services acquired George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates, the physician practice that staffs George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C., and Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center.
37. Fort Myers, Fla.-based Lee Health entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Florida Heart Associates, an independent cardiology practice serving Southwest Florida.
38. New Providence, N.J.-based PRISM Vision Group has closed a transaction with Retina Macula Institute. Retina Macula Institute, founded by Ron Gallemore, MD, PhD, is an ophthalmology practice with locations in Los Angeles and South Bay, Calif.
39. Dawson Med, an independent primary and urgent care practice, acquired Batish Family Medicine in Leland, N.C., effective April 1, retaining the full staff of the former practice.
40. Miami-based Pediatrica Health Group has acquired a long-established pediatric practice in Westchester, Fla. The acquired practice is led by Juan Ruiz-Unger, MD, who has provided pediatric care in the Westchester area for more than 40 years.
41. The Oregon Clinic has merged with Broadway Medical Clinic, a nearly 90-year-old practice in Portland, creating one of the state’s largest physician-owned practices while remaining independent.
42. Chicago-based Singlepoint Healthcare acquired Healix, a Sugar Land, Texas-based national infusion services provider supporting more than 220 physician-owned and ambulatory infusion centers across the U.S.
43. Newtown, Pa.-based DermDox Group has acquired Modern Aesthetics Plastic Surgery, a three-location aesthetic medicine and plastic surgery practice in Pennsylvania.
