UMass acquires cardiology group

Upton, Mass.-based Hopedale Cardiology will join the division of cardiovascular medicine at Worcester-based UMass Chan Medical School, effective October 2026.

The practice, led by Scott Brownstein, MD, has provided cardiovascular care at Milford (Mass.) Hospital since 1995, according to an April 29 system news release. 

Hopedale Cardiology comprises seven physicians who deliver a range of cardiology services, including cardiac catheterization, echo and stress testing, transesophageal echocardiography and pacemaker and implantable cardioverter defibrillator procedures at Milford Hospital and an office in Upton.

The group includes physicians affiliated with UMass and has been involved in medical education.
