HFAP names life safety standards advisor — 5 facts

The Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program appointed Alise Howlett emergency management, physical environment and life safety standards advisor. Here are five facts:

1. Ms. Howlett replaces Brad Keyes, who retired in December 2017. She worked with Mr. Keyes for several years.

2. Ms. Howlett previously served as a project manager at SwedishAmerican Health System. She also has 15 years of experience in design, compliance and construction management.

3. An alumna of the University of Illinois, Ms. Howlett is certified as a Fire Plans Examiner, Healthcare Facility Manager and plans examiner.

4. "Alise Howlett’s extensive background working with the built environment as both a compliance expert and architectural project manager makes her a perfect fit to bridge the gap between facilities teams and clinical teams when supporting our clients in meeting accreditation requirement," said HFAP CEO Meg Gravesmill.

5. With deeming authority from CMS, HFAP provides accreditation to ambulatory care/surgical facilities, hospitals, mental health facilities and more.
