Texas Eye and Cataract surgeon debuts J&J’s new eye implant in region

Deepak Sobti, MD, was reportedly the first surgeon in North Texas to implant Johnson & Johnson’s new Tecnis Eyhance intraocular lens.

Dr. Sobti performed the procedure at Waxahachie-based Texas Eye and Cataract, according to a March 22 news release.

Tecnis Eyhance is used to treat cataract patients and is the first monofocal lens designed to slightly extend the depth of focus. It was also made to provide an easy delivery with the Tecnis Simplicity system.
