Physicians Endoscopy acquires 40th center, EndoChoice launches imaging system for Fuse & more – 4 GI company key notes

Here are four recent news updates on key gastroenterology and endoscopy companies.

Avantis Medical Systems began the 510(k) process with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its Third Eye Panoramic device. The Third Eye Panoramic device was previously cleared by FDA as a disposable product. Now, the product has been reengineered to be a resposable instrument.

EndoChoice launched its Lumos Adaptive Matrix Imaging System. Lumos is a novel and proprietary software imaging system for the Fuse Full Spectrum Endoscopy platform.

Earlier this month, Physicians Endoscopy announced a new partnership with Clearwave. Now Physicians Endoscopy's East Side Endoscopy in New York will be one of the first of its centers to roll out the self-service patient registration kiosks.

Beginning Dec. 31, 2015, Physicians Endoscopy and the physicians of DeKalb Gastroenterology Associates formed a joint venture relationship. Physicians Endoscopy acquired a minority interest in the GI group's DeKalb Endoscopy Center in Decatur, Ga.
