GI societies pen letter to president of ABIM calling for a change in the MOC process

Six gastroenterology societies have collaborated to send a letter to Richard Baron, MD, president of the American Board of Internal Medicine.

The GI societies wrote to share a set of consensus principles for the overhaul of the Maintenance of Certification process.

The GI societies participating include:

• American Gastroenterological Association
• American College of Gastroenterology
• American Society of Gastroenterological Endoscopy
• American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases
• American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society
• North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition
