$8.5M building to feature Anderson Surgery Center, SSM Health clinic — 5 insights

Two health systems broke ground on an $8.5 million building in Edwardsville, Ill., that will house a surgery center and a specialty clinic, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Five insights:

1. Maryville, Ill.-based Anderson Healthcare and St. Louis-based SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital are collaborating on the one-story facility.

2. The development will house Anderson Surgery Center and the SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital Specialty Clinic.

3. Anderson Surgery Center will feature two operating rooms and a procedure room, with an on-site lab and X-ray machine.

4. Anderson Healthcare and SSM Health expect to wrap up construction by the summer of 2020.

5. A physician office building, an urgent care center and an imaging center may eventually be added to the complex.
