Several hospitals in New York have taken steps to ensure there are enough resources to care for COVID-19 patients amid the recent spike. On Dec. 7, Gov. Andrew Cuomo mandated hospitals expand bed capacity by 25 percent. Some hospitals, including Auburn (N.Y.) Community Hospital, have postponed elective procedures in response to spiking cases.
In Ohio, Cleveland Clinic kept most ASCs operating normally when it halted nonessential inpatient surgeries on Dec. 7.
