The Nashville, Tenn.-based company is one of the five biggest ASC chains in the U.S. Here are four things to know about AmSurg in 2023:

1. AmSurg employs 2,000 physicians and owns more than 250 surgery centers across 34 states.

2. AmSurg’s more than 250 locations are now in network with Aetna after Nashville-based Envision Healthcare signed a multiyear deal with the insurer.

3. More than 1 million colonoscopies were completed at AmSurg facilities in 2022.

4. AmSurg’s number of ASCs has grown by 17 percent since 2011.
