Medline looks at new Louisiana location after original plans for distribution center stall

 
Northfield, Ill.-based medical supply company Medline is exploring Hammond, La., as a site for a distribution center as plans in a nearby city face obstacles, according to an Oct. 19 report from nola.com

The Hammond city council is set to vote on rezoning a 47-acre site for Medline next week, the report said. If approved, the site could be home to an 800,000-square-foot regional distribution center.

Medline previously planned to build the site in St. Tammany Parish, but the zoning board upheld a denial of a land-clearing plan, the report said. A Medline spokesperson told nola.com the company is still committed to the St. Tammany Parish site, but needs to keep its options open.
