1. Dr. Buehler is running for Congress in Oregon’s 2nd Congressional District. He is an orthopedic surgeon and former candidate for governor who served in the Oregon House of Representatives for two terms.
2. Dr. Buehler announced his bid for the U.S. House of Representatives in December 2019, after Rep. Greg Walden, R-Ore., declared he wouldn’t seek reelection.
3. As a state legislator, Dr. Buehler authored bills addressing the opioid crisis, improved recovery after joint replacement procedures and other issues.
4. Dr. Buehler pledged to focus on improving access to care, lowering healthcare costs and ending the opioid epidemic if elected to Congress.
5. The AAOS PAC, also known as the Orthopaedic PAC, has endorsed two other members running for Congress in 2020.
