Maryland hospital to open $80M surgical pavilion

Rossville, Md.-based MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center plans to open its surgical pavilion to patients Aug. 24, The Baltimore Sun reports.

The pavilion is 82,000 square feet. It’s connected to the hospital’s patient tower and contains 14 surgical suites.

The pavilion has 20 post-anesthesia care units, a transplant and perfusion room, and robotic technology, along with a number of administrative-facing centers.

The pavilion is part of a $300 million investment MedStar has made in expanding Franklin Square.
