Eight health systems have committed more than $350 million to new ASC and outpatient projects in the past two months, signalling the healthcare industry’s move to the outpatient setting.
Here are eight new ASC and outpatient care projects that hospitals and health systems are taking on, as reported by Becker’s since July 16:
- The Windward Planning Commission voted 5-0 Sept. 4 to approve permits clearing the way for Hilo Benioff Medical Center to build the Keaau (Hawaii) Benioff Health Center, a $90 million outpatient clinic.
- Valley Regional Hospital, part of Lebanon, N.H.-based Dartmouth Health, opened a $19.5 million, 25,000-square-foot outpatient facility in Claremont, N.H.
- Phoenix-based OrthoArizona opened a $25 million, 50,000-square-foot orthopedic center and ASC in Glendale, Ariz.
- Touro, a nonprofit hospital in New Orleans, opened a $7.5 million renovation that doubles the size of its outpatient surgery center.
- Seattle Children’s is building a $103 million ASC in Federal Way, Wash., adding three pediatric operating rooms to its South Sound region.
- Multiple developers are set to break ground on a healthcare facility and surgery center in Hoover, Ala., that will cost $35 million.
- Traverse City, Mich.-based Munson Healthcare opened a new $15 million ASC in Gaylord, Mich.
- University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Clinton will build a new 22,000-square-foot ambulatory clinical center and undergo a major hospital renovation, with the project totaling $62 million.
