Valley Regional Hospital, part of Lebanon, N.H.-based Dartmouth Health, opened a 25,000-square-foot outpatient facility in Claremont, N.H., Sept. 8, consolidating several outpatient service lines into a single building.
The Michael and Sheila Satzow Health Center brings together primary care, imaging, orthopedics, OB-GYN, midwifery, phlebotomy, podiatry, and cardiology and vascular services under one roof.
The $19.5 million project replaces three previous outpatient locations, two of which are owned by the hospital and will likely be repurposed, while the lease on the third is set to expire, according to a Sept. 3 report from Valley News.
“By coming into one building, we can be more efficient,” said Chief Medical Officer Juliann Barrett, MD, according to Valley News.
The facility is designed to increase collaboration between specialists and support faster, more coordinated care, allowing patients to complete labs on site immediately after seeing a clinician in some cases. Many exam rooms are interchangeable across specialties. The building can accommodate up to 260 patients a day.
No layoffs resulted from the move, according to a Dartmouth Health spokesperson.
