During his visit, Mr. Espaillat toured the facility and met with providers. The Ambulatory Surgery Center Association helped organize the event, and encourages other ASCs to host policymakers to raise awareness of the services ASCs provide.

“We each have a role to play in ensuring safe, affordable and quality health care for residents and the community as a whole, and I am delighted to visit with members and staff of the Advanced Endoscopy Center to discuss ways to help improve the care and access to care for surgical patients in the Bronx, the state and across the country,” Mr. Espaillat said.

The Advanced Endoscopy Center works closely with the Colon Cancer Challenge Foundation and the Colon Cancer Alliance to promote screenings, and has been recognized by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy as a center of excellence.

“We all work very hard to provide the best in quality care to our neighborhood of patients and appreciate the opportunity to discuss the value AEC brings to the area with these distinguished public officials,” said Steven Housberg, administrator of the center.
