The approximately 13,000-square-foot facility features 18 surgeons and 16 gastroenterologists, according to Hartford HealthCare’s website. The center also offers behavioral health specialists, nutritionists and physical therapists.

The center is essentially a partnership between the hospital and Connecticut GI, also based in Hartford, Jeffry Nestler, MD, chief of gastroenterology at Hartford Hospital, told wfsb.com.

The center will provide diagnostic and therapeutic services and treat GI issues like swallowing disorders, reflux disease, pancreatic disease, biliary disease and inflammatory bowel disease. The center will also offer colonoscopies through an expanded GI endoscopy unit.
