Dr. Bayless focuses on celiac disease, Crohn’s disease, diarrhea, digestive diseases, proctitis and ulcerative colitis. He has co-authored 145 peer-reviewed research papers and has edited 13 books for practicing physicians and patients. He has received the Distinguished Educator Award from the American Gastroenterological Association and the Excellence in Teaching Award from the Johns Hopkins Alumni Association over the course of his career.
Dr. Bayless earned his medical degree at Chicago Medical School and completed his residency at the Cornell Division of Bellevue Hospital and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He completed fellowship training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
