GI physician leader to know: Dr. Arthur DeCross of University of Rochester Medical Center

Arthur J. DeCross, MD, is an associate professor of medicine at University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medical Center. He serves on a number of national committees of the American Gastroenterological Association, including medical education and training. He was elected to the AGA Academy of Educators in 2012.

Dr. DeCross is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He has a professional interest in inflammatory bowel diseases, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, celiac disease, general gastroenterology and the specialized nutritional support of gastrointestinal disorders. He has won numerous awards over the course of his career, including the American Medical Association’s Physician’s Recognition Award and the Lawrence A. Kohn Senior Teaching Fellow award in recognition of outstanding teaching faculty within the medical community University of Rochester.

Dr. DeCross attended medical school at Albany (N.Y.) Medical College. He completed his internal medicine residency at Strong Memorial Hospital-University of Rochester and completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.
