GI leader to know: Dr. Arnold J. Markowitz of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

Arnold Markowitz, MD, is a gastroenterologist and the director of the gastroenterology fellowship program at New York City-based Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Markowitz specializes in colon cancer screening and prevention. He has a research interest in hereditary colon cancer syndromes.

He began his career after earning his medical degree from New York City-based New York University. He completed a residency at New York University Medical Center before completing fellowships at Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan Medical Center and Pittsburgh-based University of Pennsylvania Medical CEnter.

Dr. Markowitz is an American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy fellow. He also serves as a trustee of the ASGE Foundation.
