Dr. Knowles is a professor of surgery at Queen Mary University of London and a consultant colorectal surgeon at Barts Health NHS Trust in London. His responsibilities on the advisory board include helping Exero Medical navigate clinical trials and clinical implementation of its sensor for the early detection of anastomotic leaks.

“I look forward to working closely with the Exero Medical team, whose technology is novel to this field, to address this widespread issue and help alert physicians to postoperative anastomotic leaks early on, allowing for timely medical intervention and improved patient outcomes,” said Dr. Knowles.

He also serves as deputy director of the biomedical research Blizard Institute in London and honorary professor of experimental therapeutics at University College London.
