Gastroenterologist to know: Dr. Robert Brown Jr. of Weill Cornell Medical College

Robert S. Brown Jr., MD, MPH, is a gastroenterologist and interim chief of the division of gastroenterology and hepatology at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City. He is also vice chair of transitions of care in the department of medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College; director of the Center for Liver Disease and Transplantation at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City; and professor of clinical medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City.

Dr. Brown has co-authored over 150 peer-reviewed articles mostly dedicated to viral hepatitis and liver transplantation, and he is an associate editor for the journals Liver Transplantion and Gastroenterology and Hepatology News. He is also author of the book “Common Liver Diseases and Transplantation: An Algorithmic Approach to Work-up Management.”

Dr. Brown earned his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine in New York City and completed his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of California in San Francisco.
