Gastroenterologist to know: Dr. Matthew Bechtold of University of Missouri Health School of Medicine

Matthew Bechtold, MD, is a gastroenterologist and the director of endoscopy at the University of Missouri Health School of Medicine in Columbia. He is also an associate professor of clinical medicine, director of outpatient services, associate director of VA affairs and chair of the Department of Internal Medicine Quality Improvement Committee at the University of Missouri Health School of Medicine.

Dr. Bechtold’s clinical and research interests colonoscopy, gastroenterology, nutrition, endoscopy, meta-analysis, outcomes research and quality improvement. He is the author of 62 publications and 163 abstracts.

Dr. Bechtold earned his medical degree, completed his residency and his fellowship at the University of Missouri.
