Gastroenterologist to know: Dr. David Rubin of University of Chicago

David T. Rubin, MD, is a gastroenterologist and chief of the section of gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at the University of Chicago. He is also the Joseph B. Kirsner Professor of Medicine.

Dr. Rubin’s clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease, high risk cancer syndromes and celiac disease. He has been studying virtual colonoscopy as a screening tool for colorectal cancer since 1997 and is also studying the causes of cancer in IBD.

Dr. Rubin earned his medical degree, completed his residency and completed his fellowship at the University of Chicago.
