MemorialCare adds 2 cardiothoracic surgeons

MemorialCare Heart & Vascular Institute at Saddleback Medical Center has added Asad Shah, MD, and Timothy Lee, MD. 

Dr. Shah is a cardiothoracic surgeon with clinical interests in thoracic aortic disease, minimally invasive valve surgery and robotic cardiac surgery. He will serve as medical director of cardiothoracic surgery at the institute, according to a May 5 news release from MemorialCare. 

Dr. Lee, also a cardiothoracic surgeon, specializes in heart valve repair and replacement, aortic surveillance and surgery, minimally invasive procedures and transcatheter therapies. His clinical interests include coronary artery bypass grafting and heart valve replacements.

The additions will expand the institute’s minimally invasive and robotic-assisted procedure offerings, the release said.
