The data, published Aug. 13, was collected from Oct. 6, 2020 to Feb. 11from 17,903 respondents.
Here are seven sources of financial losses for cardiologists in 2020:

- Practices issues (business problems, reimbursement changes, changes in practice situation): 15 percent
- Bad investments or investments in the stock market: 12 percent
- Real estate losses: 5 percent
- Legal fees or lawsuit: 3 percent
- Job loss (personal or spouse/partner): 3 percent
- Divorce: 3 percent
- Other: 2 percent
