Wyoming Medical Center acquiring surgical center — 5 insights

Casper-based Wyoming Medical Center struck a deal to acquire Mountain View Regional Hospital, a surgical-only facility, Wyoming Business Report reports.

Here's what you should know.

1. The hospital opened as a full-service facility in 2008. In 2011, the hospital made the decision to convert to a surgical-only facility.

2. Wyoming Medical Center entered into a deal to acquire the facility from Brentwood, Tenn.-based Surgery Partners.

3. Wyoming Medical Center CEO and President Michele Chulick said, "At Wyoming Medical Center and Mountain View Regional Hospital, we are dedicated to ensure the highest quality and [most] exceptional patient and family experience possible for everyone who walks through our doors. We are very excited about the additional services and presence that we will be able to offer through this acquisition."

4. Mountain View Regional Hospital will begin operating as part of Wyoming Medical Center in the first half of 2018.

5. Mountain View currently performs both inpatient and outpatient surgery.
