ASC leaders are eyeing a range of anesthesia staffing models for their centers in 2026, according to data published in VMG Health’s “ASC Leader Expectations for 2026” survey. 

The survey collected responses from 97 ASC leaders at both independent and joint ventured-owned ASCs. 

Here’s a breakdown of the various anesthesia models respondents are considering 2026:

  • Independent contractor with stipend: 44%
  • Independent contractor without stipend: 36%
  • Employment agreement: 9% 
  • Something else: 5% 
  • Joint venture partner: 4%
  • Implementing RN conscious sedation program: 1%
