The Empowerment Plan provides coats that turn into sleeping bags to homeless individuals around the country. The nonprofit also hires single parents from local shelters and helps them obtain full-time employment as seamstresses.
With donations from clients and vendors, MiraMed surpassed its fundraising goal and nearly doubled what it raised in 2018. In 2019, MiraMed brought in enough money to provide 1,000 coats to those in need.
