3 recent lawsuits involving anesthesia pain practices

In the past three months, Becker's ASC Review has reported on several lawsuits involving anesthesia and pain management practices.

Three to know:

1. Erie, Pa.-based Tri-State Pain Institute is facing several lawsuits related to its finances and claims of a MRSA outbreak in 2017. Read more.

2. Wichita, Kan.-based Mid-Continent Anesthesiology was awarded more than $3.5 million after a jury found its two former presidents didn't disclose their compensation or provide sufficient evidence that they were fairly paid. Read more.

3. Livonia-based Trinity Health Michigan cut ties with Anesthesia Associates of Ann Arbor (Mich.) at one of its hospitals after a heated dispute over services. Earlier this year, Trinity filed a lawsuit alleging it could lose patients and incur significant administrative expenses because of rate disputes between A4 and several insurers. Read more.
