$135M MiraMed merger creates robust anesthesia RCM platform

MiraMed Global Services and Medac have merged to create a more comprehensive anesthesia revenue cycle management platform, MiraMed announced May 13.

Four insights:

1. The merger brings together the resources of Medac and Anesthesia Business Consultants, MiraMed's flagship anesthesia billing services provider.

2. MiraMed's new five-year, $135 million syndicated senior secured credit facility was used to finance the transaction. The facility provides "increased capacity to drive growth through additional strategic acquisitions," the company stated in a press release.

3. Medac will retain its individual brand, independence and culture, as well as its office and workforce in North Augusta, S.C. Medac Chairman and CEO Bijon Memar will stay on as Medac CEO.

4. Headquartered in Jackson, Mich., MiraMed Global Services provides RCM and business process outsourcing solutions to hospitals, health networks, physician practices and other organizations.
