CapsoVision receives FDA 510(k) clearance for CapsoCam Plus: 4 things to know

Saratoga, Calif.-based CapsoVision earned FDA 510(k) clearance for its small bowel capsule endoscope system, CapsoCam Plus.

Here’s what you need to know.

1. The device provides a 360 degree panoramic lateral image of the small bowel and is used to detect small bowel abnormalities.

2. The entire system consists of a capsule endoscope, a retrieval kit, a data system and software.

3. The device is marketed as the “only” capsule system that does not require patients to wear receiver equipment during imaging, and the only device with 360 degree imaging.

4. The system uses the same flash memory system as the CapsoCam SV-1. The new iteration has a higher resolution.
