Valley Eye Specialists among first to implant new Vivity lens

Two specialists at Phoenix-based Valley Eye Specialists were among the first group of surgeons in the nation to implant the Alcon Acrysof IQ Vivity Lens after FDA approval, according to a Feb. 1 news release.

Sanford Moretsky, DO, and Craig Cassidy, DO, were part of the group of surgeons to implant the lenses, the release said. The lenses allow patients to see clearly at far and intermediate distances while providing functional near vision. Its X-wave technology allows the stretching and shifting of lights, creating a continuous focus range.

Valley Eye Specialists was the first practice in Arizona to offer Verion Image Guided laser cataract procedures, the release said.
