Sightpath Medical Set to Launch New Mobile Femtosecond Laser for Cataract Service

Sightpath Medical has announced it will launch a new mobile femtosecond laser for cataract service in early 2013, according to a news release.

The MoFe service suite will include a femtosecond laser, an intra-operative wavefront aberrometer and a certified laser engineer.

It will be offered on a stop fee and variable cost basis.

"With our new MoFe service, high capital costs and technology risks are no longer barriers for surgeons to access this new market of femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery," said Jim Tiffany, president and CEO of Sightpath Medical, in the release.

Sightpath Medical said it is planning a nationwide roll-out of MoFe throughout 2013.

Sightpath Medical is headquartered in Bloomington, Minn.
