Kaiser Permanente San Diego Surgeons Use Implantable Miniature Telescopes

A team of ophthalmology specialists led by Kaiser Permanente San Diego chief of ophthalmology Peter Custis, MD, has begun to offer patients Implantable Miniature Telescopes, according to a Scoop San Diego report.

KPSD is the first Kaiser Permanente facility to offer patients the outpatient procedure.

The team includes retinal specialist Dr. Custis; low-vision specialists Tim Yee, MD, and Leslie Purcell, MD; a corneal specialist; a general ophthalmic surgeon; and an occupational therapist.
