Here are eight new ASCs and outpatient centers that have opened, been approved and broken ground in the South, as reported by Becker’s since July 22:
- An 80,000-square-foot multispecialty ASC has been planned in Hoover, Ala., with construction set to begin in December.
- Athens (Ga.) Orthopedic Clinic opened its new joint and spine ASC.
- Charlotte, N.C.-based Novant Health broke ground on the health system’s first medical campus in Upstate South Carolina.
- Morgantown, W.Va.-based WVU Medicine broke ground on the $16 million Robert Sonneborn Family WVU Medicine Children’s Outpatient Center at Wheeling (W.Va.) Hospital.
- Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Health joined forces with Manassas, Va.-based Carient Heart & Vascular and Woodbridge, Va.-based Polaris Heart & Vascular Clinic to launch the Northern Virginia Heart & Vascular Center.
- Salisbury, Md.-based TidalHealth broke ground on what will become the system’s largest outpatient facility.
- Miami-based Mount Sinai Medical Center opened a new 33,000-square-foot outpatient facility in East Hialeah, Fla.
- Fort Myers, Fla.-based Lee Health is set to open a new outpatient facility in Cape Coral’s Bimini Square development this fall.
