Alabama ASC activity heats up

Alabama, a state that requires a certificate of need to build surgery centers, has seen recent ASC activity.

Here are three ASC moves happening in Alabama that Becker’s has reported on since Oct. 20: 

1.  Healthcare Resources purchased a 91-acre campus in Hoover, Ala., that it plans to convert into a mixed-use center anchored by an ASC and physician medical offices.

2. Cullman (Ala.) Regional Medical Center earned approval from the State Health Planning & Development Agency certificate-of-need review board for the construction of a new ASC at Hartselle (Ala.) Health Park.

3. Hoover, Ala.-based Medplex Outpatient Surgery Center earned approval from the state’s certificate-of-need review board to relocate its existing facility and construct an ASC two miles away.
