The Pleasant Prairie Plan Commission approved the final site, operation and zoning plans for Milwaukee-based Advocate Aurora Health‘s $130 million ASC and medical office building.
Glendale-based Ascension Wisconsin won approval for its $42 million Ascension Ambulatory Surgery Center in Mount Pleasant, Wisc. Construction is expected to begin in January 2019, and the facility is expected to open in early 2020.
Athens, Ala.-based Athens-Limestone Hospital held a ribbon cutting ceremony for its new outpatient surgery tower Dec. 3. The $25 million facility opened in October.
Neurosurgeon Swaid N. Swaid, MD, is overseeing the construction of a $21 million medical plaza in Vestavia Hills, Ala. Vestavia Medical Plaza will feature an ASC, diagnostic center and clinical space for 12 physicians.

Georgetown, S.C.-based Tidelands Health wants to develop a single-specialty ASC devoted to endoscopy procedures for an estimated $10,177,913. Conway (S.C.) Hospital filed a legal challenge to the proposed development.
