Quincy Medical Group makes progress on surgery center — 3 insights

Quincy (Ill.) Medical Group is developing a surgery center in the Quincy Mall, ABC affiliate KHQA reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. The surgery center will occupy a former department store and will have eight rooms.

2. The surgery center could open as soon as March 1, 2018, the Herald-Whig reports. The state’s health board will rule on the surgery center in March.

3. Quincy Medical Group wants to build the center to increase its surgical capacity.
