Baptist Health opens $11.7M Florida surgery center — 4 insights

Jacksonville, Fla.-based Baptist Health opened a new surgery center in Fleming Island, Fla., Clay Today reports.

Here's what you should know:

1. The 17,000-square-foot surgery center hosted 50 people for a tour Dec. 4.

2. The center cost Baptist Health $11.7 million.

3. The center has two surgical rooms and a procedure room dedicated to gastroenterology.

4. Baptist Clay Outpatient Surgery Manager Mike Poon said Baptist Health built the center to cater to Fleming Island residents. He said, "This is the place where we wanted to have a healing environment in the county."
