GI physician leader to know: Dr. Frank Nemec of Gastroenterology Associates

Frank J. Nemec, MD, is the founder of Gastroenterology Associates in Las Vegas, established in 1986. He is a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and American Gastroenterological Association and a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is a past president of the Nevada State Medical Association and the current president of the Nevada Colon Cancer Partnership.

Dr. Nemac has previously served as chief of staff at Southern Hills Hospital and Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, both located in Las Vegas. He was a commissioned commander with the Medical Corps in United States Navy Reserve. His clinical interests include acid reflux disease, constipation, hepatitis C and irritable bowel syndrome. His work has been published in prestigious journals such as Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Gastroenterology.

Dr. Nemac earned his medical degree at University of California Los Angeles School of Medicine. He completed his residency at University of California, Davis, where he also completed his gastroenterology fellowship.
