What you should know:
1. AEC was founded in 2001 and has two physicians. It is GI Alliance’s only location in the Texas panhandle. Srinivas Pathapati, MD, commented on the partnership, saying, “We were excited to find a partner in GI Alliance that can help us maintain our autonomy within our clinical practice, yet provide significant enhancements in regards to operational support and research.”
2. GI Alliance CEO Jim Weber, MD, said the partnership opens up the possibility of treating patients from Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas and Colorado.
3. GI Alliance has made seven partnerships this year, with four of those partnerships occurring in the last two months alone.
4. GI Alliance’s most recent partnership is interesting because the size of the practice bucks several trends in the PE-investment space.
