FDA clears Third Eye Panoramic device for colonoscopy

The FDA has granted Avantis Medical’s Third Eye Panoramic device for colonoscopy 510(k) clearance.

The Third Eye Panoramic device is designed for attachment to the tip of colonoscopes and grants physicians greater visibility of the colon.

A recent feasibility study performed by Moshe Rubin, MD, and Sang Kim, MD, of New York Hospital Queens Weill Cornell Medical College, found that the device improved adenoma detection rate by 48 percent.
