The FDA cleared Avantis Medical Systems’ Third Eye Panoramic device as a reusable device for colonoscopies.

2. The latest clearance allows Avantis Medical Systems to market the device as one that surgeons can use multiple times prior to disposal.

3. Third Eye Panoramic is a wide-view visualization device that gastroenterologists can use with any commonly used colonoscope to improve visualization.

4. The device features two video cameras that are directed laterally from its left and right sides.

5. The device’s cleaning and disinfection protocols are similar to the methods used to reprocess colonoscopies.
